Friends,
My son, Jesse Lewis, was killed in his first grade classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown in 2012. Since then, I’ve devoted my life to keeping our children safe.
Today, I support Tim Ryan because he shares my commitment to doing the right thing for our children, and he has the strength and courage to follow through. Like me, Tim believes schools should foster a loving, positive and nurturing environment, where kids can learn social and emotional skills that contribute to their mental health and well-being.
He’s the only presidential candidate talking about these things, which is why we must give him our support. Will you help Tim bring these issues to the national stage with a contribution today? If he can get 65,000 donors, he’ll be guaranteed a place in the first Democratic presidential debate.
I founded the Choose Love Movement after Jesse’s death to help bring social and emotional learning to students, teachers and schools throughout the country.
I believe that there are two kinds of people in this world—good people and good people in pain. If we can help those who are in pain, we can prevent the kind of tragedy that took my son all too soon.
Tim Ryan is such an inspiration to me because he has the bravery to speak the truth and talk about these difficult issues. He knows that if we can help our children learn about love and compassion, our world will be a better, safer place.
I hope you’ll join me in support of Tim by making a contribution today. If all of us stand with Tim, he’ll get the 65,000 donors he needs to participate in the first presidential debate.
Thanks so much,
Scarlett
