Hey,

This Father’s Day, I can’t help but think about my inspirations in this race: my three kids, Caroline, Alex, and Cam.

It’s not easy being away from your kids -- and if you’re a parent, relative, or mentor to a kid in your life, I’m sure you know the feeling too. But at the end of the day, I am running for them. For the world they will inherit, and the progress they’ll be able to create.

Being ‘Dad’ is one of the most important titles I’ll ever have. I wrote my kids a letter explaining how they motivate me every day. Will you read and share it?

Caroline, Alex, and Cameron:

Every night as we eat dinner, we go around the table to reflect on someone that touched our lives or that might need a little extra in the way of thoughts or prayers.

While I’m away from you on the trail, I still take time to sit and reflect on the folks I meet. I think of the woman in Council Bluffs who told me about her family, and of the mom of four-year old twins in Pacific Junction who showed me their community devastated by flooding.

And I think of you three, the kids who made me ‘Dad.’ I am challenged by you each and every day. And I am also inspired.

Your world is rapidly expanding beyond Helena, Montana, much more so than it was for me at your age. Before I am ready, you’ll head out into the world on your own adventures and telling your own stories.

Every day I’m amazed by your intelligence, integrity, and sense of humor that I have no doubt will get you far in life. But those are double edged swords: you are far too smart to be shielded from the darker shadows of the world we live in. In your 17, 14, and 12 years you’ve witnessed the highest highs and lowest lows our country’s seen in recent memory.

You’ve marched against intolerance and prejudice I hoped you would never know and took that inspiration and made change in your own community here in Helena. I am so proud of who each of you are becoming.

As you head into 12th, 9th, and 7th grades, we have so many reasons to be hopeful. We live in what I truly believe to be the greatest country on Earth, where the possibility of change for the better shines brightly at every turn. You and your generation are using your voices to stand up for your values and speak out for safety and tolerance, and against hate and prejudice. While we build a country worthy of being passed down to you, you are taking the reins and helping to show us the way.

I love you. I am proud of you. And no matter how far away the campaign trail takes me, I’ll always be just a Snap or a phone call away, looking forward to coming home to you and Mom soon.

Love,

Dad

Whether you’re a parent, honoring a parent, or a role model in any child’s life, thank you for the work you do every day to show our kids the way forward.

In my first ‘State of the State’ address as Governor, I said that we need to act like our kids are watching -- because they are. They’re seeing the example we set for them, and soon enough, they’ll reflect those lessons as leaders themselves.

So on this day -- and every day -- let’s set an example worthy of the world we hope they will inherit.

Thanks for your support,

Steve Bullock

Governor Steve Bullock is running for President because we need to defeat Donald Trump and the corrupt system that keeps people like him in power. That starts with winning back the places Democrats lost in 2016, taking on the toxic influence of money in politics, and ensuring every American gets a fair shot at success.

Steve Bullock is the only candidate for President who’s actually won a Trump state. He is our best chance to take back the White House in 2020.

Our campaign won’t take any money from PACs, so we rely entirely on donations from people like you. If you want to beat Donald Trump and get our country back on track, click the button below to donate. Any amount makes a big difference!
