The DNC changed the debate rules. That change could keep me out of the first Presidential Debate, simply for doing my job.

The situation is complicated, so bear with me for a minute and let me explain what's happening.

1. I got into this race just a few weeks ago. That's relatively late compared to other 2020 candidates. But there's an important reason why: as the Governor of Montana, I had a job to do. The Montana legislature was in session, which only happens every two years. I did my job. I stayed at work. And I secured Medicaid expansion for nearly 100,000 Montanans. This program will save lives.

2. Because I announced my campaign later than everyone else, fewer people know who I am. I haven't had as much time to get my message out, grow in the polls, and raise money from emails like this one. But I don't regret it for a second: Choosing between campaigning for 100,000 donors and securing health care for 100,000 people is the easiest decision I've ever made.

3. But now, the DNC could keep me out of the debate. Until Thursday, there were three national polls that FiveThirtyEight, Politico, and the Washington Post said counted. But then the DNC announced they weren't going to count one of these polls. Before a single vote has been cast, the DNC is tipping the scales against me.
