In the run-up to the 2018 election, the Trump Administration dumped a decades-old IRS transparency rule requiring dark money groups to disclose where their funding comes from.

This allows ultra-wealthy donors, special interest groups like the Koch Brothers, and even foreign entities to pump unlimited dark money into our elections -- with no oversight at all of who or where the money is coming from...

That decision was illegal. So I filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration.

Today, the court will hear our case against Trump. If won, we’ll take a step toward closing Trump’s dark money loophole and re-establish an important safeguard against foreign money in our elections.

Our nation is founded on the basic idea that every American’s voice matters.

Too often, it’s those who can cut the biggest checks who wield the greatest influence.

And there is no question that Washington has been so thoroughly corrupted by Big Money that it’s been unable to tackle our biggest challenges.

If we’re going to make progress on any of the issues facing our country -- healthcare, climate change, ensuring everyone has a fair shot -- we need to eliminate the influence of dark money and protect our democracy from the influence of unlimited foreign money in our elections.
