I wasn't born a frontrunner. I've worked hard for everything I've ever earned.
People who grew up where I did...
Who were raised by single moms like I was…
Who come from a family of immigrants like I do…
We’re not expected to run for President -- and we’re certainly not supposed to be frontrunners.
But I want kids of every race, creed, and religion to look up on that debate stage and know that one day, they can be President, too.
I've watched our current leaders poison our national dialogue with bigotry and intolerance.
I’ve watched their divisive politics erode the promise of this country and leave everyday Americans behind.
I’m running for President to put people first -- and I’m not asking permission to do it.
-- My People First Immigration Plan uses 21st century tools to keep our borders safe and puts Trump’s cruel, heartless family separation policies behind us.
-- My People First Education Plan invests in our nation’s teachers, and gives every student access to a quality education through their college years, ensuring our country’s children -- our most precious resources -- have a strong foundation for success and opportunity.
-- My People First Policing Plan begins to heal the divide between communities and law enforcement and puts an end to over-aggressive and racially discriminatory policing.
I'll be blunt: No one person can solve our problems.
But in times of crisis, we must strive to come together as a nation and ensure our people -- not our political interests -- are the catalyst for change.
