I just got off the stage at MoveOn's #BigIdeas forum where I presented my BIG idea to improve the lives of Americans across the country.
We need big, bold ideas that address systemic issues and spark change.
We also need a president who's not afraid to tackle these issues head-on.
That’s why today I laid out my vision to end racially discriminatory policing and mend the relationship between local police and the communities they serve.
My plan would:
-
Introduce new policing guidelines that would demilitarize police departments and require police to deescalate an incident before using deadly force.
-
Hold police accountable for these deaths and use of excessive force.
-
Start the healing process between communities and law enforcement.
Watch a clip of my pitch below, and stay tuned for a full release of my Policing Reform plan this Monday.

More to come,
Julián
