Friend, less than one week from today, I’ll walk onto the presidential debate stage in Miami to introduce myself to millions of Americans—many of whom will be tuning in to this race for the very first time.

I’m not a person who gets stage fright, but it would be absurd to claim I didn’t have any nerves. After all, it’s going to be the biggest night of this campaign since we launched it.

I’ll be the first geologist and brewer on the presidential debate stage, next to four sitting U.S. senators and a former Vice President, all of whom have spent years in the national spotlight, building up federal campaign chests and forging relationships in DC. But I’ll be standing tall.

My job at this first debate will be to show that a successful entrepreneur, Mayor and Governor, with a team this supportive and enthusiastic, can’t be written off—or written out—of this race. Not by a long shot.
