Folks,
Happy Pride Month! Joe is in Columbus, Ohio today to give a speech reflecting on the work we still need to do to fight for LGBTQ equality. Before Joe takes the stage tonight, we wanted to ask you to join Joe in calling on the Senate to pass the Equality Act.
It’s pretty simple: No one should live in fear of being fired, evicted from their home, or denied service in a restaurant just because of who they are or who they love.
That’s why we were so happy when the House of Representatives passed the long overdue Equality Act.
But in order for this to become the law of the land, Mitch McConnell has to bring it up for a vote in the Senate -- which he so far has refused to do.
Look, every day he waits is another day LGBTQ Americans live as second class citizens.
So will you sign our petition demanding Mitch McConnell hold a vote on the Equality Act?
Winning the presidency is incredibly important, but until we can put a new Administration in the White House, we need to do everything we can to protect the rights of all people.
That starts with making sure we can get a law passed that prohibits discrimination as soon as possible. Joe will continue speaking out on this issue and we hope you will too.
Will you join us in using your voice to demand that Mitch McConnell holds a vote on the Equality Act in the Senate so we can pass it once and for all? You can do that here:
